How long should I expect to be in therapy?

Healing takes time. Length of treatment depends upon a number of factors, including what goals you have for therapy, your life history, how much support you have outside of therapy and how persistent or intensive your symptoms are. I cannot pintpoint how long we will work together for. However, I can say that in general, my clients work with me for a number of years. This does not mean that you will be in therapy with me for the rest of your life. I want to help you meet your goals, achieve stabilization and feel that you have the tools to be able to go out into the world and try on what you’ve learned in therapy.

How frequently will we meet?

Sessions are one to two times per week depending on the level of support that you need. I do not offer sessions every other week. Therapy is a commitment that requires sustainable work to create long-term change. In my clinical experience, this is done best in a weekly format.

How long is a session?

Sessions are 45 minutes in length.

How do I make an appointment?

You can schedule a free 15 minute phone consultation with me via phone (347) 699-2694 or email to see if we would be a good fit. If we both find that we have the potential to be a good fit, I will schedule your first virtual session during the initial consultation call.

Do you offer phone/video sessions?

I am currently offering virtual and phone sessions only. I use a HIPAA-compliant and encrypted software for video calls to ensure your privacy and security during our sessions.

Do you offer in-person sessions?

At this time, all sessions are being conducted virtually. In Spring 2022, I will be starting Outdoor Therapy sessions. They will be conducted in a “walk and talk” style in the Ulster County, NY area.

What is the cancellation policy?

A payment of the full session fee is required for sessions cancelled without a full 24 hours notice. Scheduling changes can be made on occasion, permitting availability and you may use my online client portal to request a rescheduled appointment. Cancellations made within 24 hours of your appointment should be made via telephone and/or email.

How much do sessions cost?

$200 for a 45 minute session. This is for out-of-network and self pay clients.

Do you accept insurance?

I am happy to help with out-of-network claims for your insurance.

What forms of payment do you accept?

I accept all major credit cards.

What if therapy isn’t working?

Let’s talk about it! If you find that we are not or no longer a good fit, if your financial or life situation changes or if you relocate, or for any other reason you do not want to continue therapy with me you are under no obligation to stay. You have freedom of choice no matter how short or how long we’ve been working together. I would like the opportunity to discuss this with you prior to ending therapy together so that I can understand what is not working for you and to ensure quality of care for everyone I work with. In any of these cases, I will do my best to refer you to a colleague.
